Designed as a pair of dynamically modern, Class A office towers connected by a two-story skybridge, 1000 Social, 2000 Social, and the Oculus Bridge comprise part of a phased development within the 40-acre mixed-use project by the Dewitt Carolinas team called The Exchange Raleigh. An emerging mixed-use destination, the development features contemporary, iconic buildings destined to become landmark architectural statements within the Raleigh, North Carolina skyline.
The two twelve-story office buildings of approximately 350,000 SF each will be linked by a signature skybridge. The curvilinear form of the skybridge symbolizes synergy within The Exchange while its center oculus connects ground to sky. The interior skybridge office environment with its rooftop “sky park” will provide building occupants with highly unique spaces for working and collaborating. The building’s exterior is clad in a combination of architectural precast, formed metal panels, and aluminum curtainwall systems with energy efficient glazing. A new, precast concrete parking deck adjacent to the office buildings features glass-backed elevator cabs and views into a landscaped courtyard.
Architectural features and engaging retail spaces activate and articulate the building at street level. Recesses at the building corners as well as a covered pedestrian arcade bring the building massing down to pedestrian scale while also providing opportunities for landscaping, seating, and open space facing the landscaped arrival court and building entry.
Once inside the building, your arrival experience expands into a dynamic, 30-foot-tall building lobby clad in structural glass for unobstructed views. A monumental stair with glass railings connects the lobby to the second-floor conference center. Once there, a retractable folding glass wall connects the pre-function space to a balcony with views overlooking the park.
The skybridge, elevated tenant balconies, multiple interior and exterior “touch-down” workspace opportunities, and a communal terrace on the 12th floor are designed to foster creativity and collaboration. These engaging and connected indoor/outdoor spaces exemplify the latest trends in workspace design and contribute to The Exchange’s overall goal of providing the latest developments in live, work and play environments.
