The Strand

The Strand is a 20-story high-rise residential building located in the North Hills area of Raleigh, North Carolina. The design was inspired by the area’s rich history of textile mills. The designers incorporated aspects of textile mills through the design and use of materials. The building features an exposed structural concrete frame and X-bracing which bolsters the industrial theme. This industrial design concept continues to be portrayed in the luxurious amenity spaces and residential units. The Strand consists of roughly 650,627 total square feet including 362 units that range in a mix of studios to three-bedroom apartments. On the first floor of the building, right off Plaza Street, there is open access to the retail space with outdoor seating creating a very inviting atmosphere that draws people in.
