Hyatt Centric is a new, 175-key hotel for Beacon IMG. The 10-story lifestyle brand hotel is part of a larger master plan designed by RJTR for Sharon United Methodist Church. Hyatt’s Centric brand celebrates each location’s distinct identity and vibrant culture. Each hotel features “artistically curated” spaces that are thoughtfully designed to help guests work, relax, and socialize. Programmatic components for the hotel include ground floor retail space, a bar and restaurant with flexible dining/co-working space, and upper-level banquet, meeting, and board rooms.

At the top of the hotel, a signature restaurant with an expansive exterior terrace offers phenomenal city skyline views of Uptown Charlotte and provides a lively destination for guests and local residents alike. Throughout the hotel, softer natural elements are designed to contrast with structured elements to create interplays of dark and light, nature-made vs. human-made, and intriguing textural juxtapositions. A dark wood monumental staircase in the lobby symbolizes a giant tree spiraling up through the space. Undulating walls clad in dark wood veneer bring to mind a forest and extend the design’s tree motif. A reception desk with faceted planes of stone and light takes its inspiration from quartz crystals. White oak, blackened steel, and aged, patinaed brass elements accent and articulate the spaces. Custom murals continue the nature theme, while the public spaces and guestrooms showcase work by local Charlotte artists.
