The Morehouse School of Medicine’s Lee Street campus extension is a transformative, mixed-use living and learning community in Atlanta’s Historic West End. Situated at the highly visible corner of Lee Street and Park Street in Southwest Atlanta, the project delivers residential housing, health and wellness facilities, retail, and office space for the Atlanta University Center Consortium Schools.
The building’s striking, yet simple, architecture reflects its position as the gateway to the Atlanta University Center. Exposed steel cross-bracing elements punctuate the building’s Lee Street façade, and the generous glass behind allows for views into the dynamic building as well as expansive views out of the building toward the Morehouse School of Medicine’s historic campus and the Atlanta skyline beyond. The residential portion of the project offers diverse amenity spaces with varying levels of social integration. The café-like clubroom opens onto a 18,00 SF courtyard which is populated with both semi-private relaxation spaces as well as designated game zones.
